The WARC Project
WARC’s mission is to connect the traditional with the modern expression, to awake the entrepreneurial initiatives of young people from rural areas, to establish ART corners (office) in each local community, as well as to present and share culture of neighbors.
Activities planned in project:
- Opening ART CORNERS in twenty local communities in the region of Subotica and Szeged
- Two four-days workshops camp in Palic and in Szeged
- Carrier consulting in 20 local communities
- “WHO KNOWS WHAT” festival for young talents who have some talent in the field of fine arts, visual expression, traditional crafts and music.
- “Road Show” - visit by truck all 20 places and presentation of works created during the project
- Presentation on the Internet
- fifteen-minutes short film about the project
Art Corners
One of the goals of WARC project is to form ART CORNERS for youth which will create a cultural offer in its place.
The aim of the activities was to find young people who are interested and willing to be the carriers of culture in their place. These corners will be equipped with computer and necessary office equipment. The mission of the project is to train young people for independent functioning, writing projects and organizing various cultural events that helps expansion of culture and bringing together village and city. The project have involved every local community that have signed the Memorandum of partnership with the Fokus Foundation on the territory of Serbia and the Matrix Organization in the territory of Hungary.
Camp
FOKUS Foundation from Subotica and Matrix Foundation from Szeged are realizing project WARC,, Welcome to arts and crafts,, in which are involved local communities from around Subotica and Szeged. The project has been implemented through career consulting for young people in all 20 localities. During training the young people were able to learn the basics of marketing, organization, sales and writing CV and cover letter. Teachers have tried to help young people to more easily find jobs or start their own business. The participants of different ages, were very interested in career consulting. After carrier consulting there were a little investigation through evolutionary list.
Carrier consulting
Next spep in cross-border project, Welcome to arts and crafts, which Focus Foundation is realising in cooperation with organization Matrix from Szeged, have been carrier consultings which were held in order to introduce young people from rural areas the secrets of entrepreneurship. During this wave of education about 200 young people from the vicinity of Subotica and 200 from the vicinity of Szeged were educated, which means that from each municipality twenty youth participated in career consulting.
During the interactive lectures about entrepreneurship, youth had the opportunity to learn about the following topics: creating a product and its market introduction, writing and execution of projects, communication with markets, investments in marketing, how to run your company / business plan writing, creative thinking , consumer profiling, market research, managers - and the essence of responsibility, success, the team and team work, organization of shows and events. Each participant at the end of this educational project cycle directly entered into the database and have opportunity to participate in all future activities that are planned by this project.
Career consultings were held at the following local communities:
In Hungary: Alđe, Ujsentivan, Domasek, Iles, Desk, Opatfalva, Kibekhaza, Saćmaz, Reske, Doc.
In Serbia: Bajmok, Đurđin, Tavankut, Stari Zednik, Horgos, Kelebija, Hajdukovo, Little Bosnia, Ljutovo, Bikovo.
Who Knows What?!
FOCUS Foundation from Subotica and Szeged Matrix organizations are organizing Talent Festival ,,WHO KNOWS WHAT,, as a continuation of the IPA cross-border cooperation project supported by the European Commission. The festival will be held in Szeged 24th and 25 June in the park behind the Museum of Ferenc Mora. This program will be enriched by works that were incurred and arising in the Serbian-Hungarian cooperation.
Participants coming from Subotica and Szeged will have the opportunity to win various prizes (books, cd, old crafts workshops). The most valuable prize is ticket for the music festival Sziget in Budapest and also ticket for the Exit music festival in Novi Sad.
Talented young people are able to apply to compete in the following areas: handicrafts ,music (dance, vocal and instrumental performance), visual expression (film, photography) and art (sculpture, painting, drawing …)
Participants of the Festival in this way gain the opportunity to promote their art works and activities of the project through further WARC, held within the cycle of Road Show, which will be a kind of promotion works that were created during the project.
Young people from local communities of Subotica and Szeged, as well as from the town of Subotica and Szeged, aged 14 to 33 years can participate in the Festival of talent WHO KNOWS WHAT, 24 and 25 June in Szeged.
On 25th june Festival will be held from 10am to 6pm in the park behind the Museum of Ferenc Mora. Applications are due by 24 June.
RoadShow
The last major activity that was planned by WARC project is truck visiting every local community that have participated in the project, with presentation of works created during the project.
Truck will visit the following places:
Hungary: Alđe, Ujsentivan, Domasek, Iles, Desk, Opatfalva,Kibekhaza, Saćmaz, Reske, Doc.
Serbia: Bajmok, Đurđin, Tavankut, Stari Zednik, Horgos, Kelebija,Hajdukovo, Little Bosnia, Ljutovo, Bikovo.
